Pride leading role of Cairo University to prepare highly qualified researchers to contribute in the fields of education, scientific research, community service and environmental development in the Arab world, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, member of the Supreme Federal Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Sharjah, who graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture, 1971 opened the Cairo University Research Park (CURP) in the Faculty of Agriculture on the seventh of April, 2008 as a part of Cairo University celebration with its first centenary. CURP has been established on an area of four thousand square meters with a cost of eighteen million Egyptian pounds for the laboratory equipments as a contribution from His Highness as a sovereignty of pride to Cairo University. This scientific edifice includes a number of research laboratories, which are biotechnology, embryology, chemistry, microbiology, electron microscopy, hormones, immunology and meat technology. These labs are equipped with the most advanced equipments, which are considered as a great addition to develop the infrastructure of scientific research in Egypt.

Cairo University has devoted a large part of its investment to support its Research Park to encourage the researchers in various faculties to get benefit from the available facilities.
